In recent years travel, tourism and hospitality companies have had to radically rethink how they incorporate digital as part of their service offer. Some of the most popular Travel Tech startups, such as Uber and Airbnb, have gained multibillion valuations in the space of just a few years. In turn, more established companies in the travel sector have been transformed to reflect the importance of technology for their growth.
Technology has disrupted the travel sector and led to widespread innovations which have seen, for instance, seen developments in e-tourism platforms and flight tracking systems. They have irreversibly changed the way we travel, from buying the ticket to navigating new cities, and finding accommodation. London is taking a leading role in this sector. Not only is it a global travel hub but also hosts some of the hottest Travel Tech startups, such as Citymapper, Lastminute.com and Secret Escapes.
So what is Travel Tech about and how can I get involved? What career opportunities are there and what future developments are on the horizon? Join us for our ‘Hack Your Career in Travel Tech’ with Code First: Girls (CF: G), kindly hosted for us at Huckletree Shoreditch Alphabeta Building, to find out more!
At the event we’ll be joined by an exciting variety of speakers from different companies and institutions across the sector; from global travel companies, to startups, to lifestyle and travel concierges.
