As part of a global series of hackathons addressing health for the current refugee crisis, the EmpowerHack Health Amsterdam hackathon focuses on inclusive and sustainable design and innovation.
How can tech help refugee women?
Empowerhack was born out of the fact that despite up to 80% of the worlds refugees being women and children, the problems faced by them are never at the forefront. We aim to change that by taking collaborative design to scale.
Techies, researchers and creatives alike are invited to join us in Amsterdam for a weekend of brainstorming, collaboration and prototyping.
Join us on Friday evening for a screening of “We are here” complete with Q&A from the Director, Alexandra Jansse, to bring everyone together and help us to understand the challenges we are trying to solve.
Teams will be formed and then on Saturday and Sunday (10am – 5pm) we will be in full hack mode before coming together for the pitch event on Sunday afternoon where we share the work achieved over the weekend!
Included will be workshop based around the principles of design thinking to help you to develop your problem solving skills.
Its going to be an action packed weekend with guest speakers from the field, refugees, NGO’s, designers and each other.
We can’t wait.
See you there!
